BFF

We hit April with our feet running in our household with 3 birthdays, an anniversary in 8 days and then the kids home with school holidays. Lots of fun but very busy and so scrapbooking gets a bit hard for me to do, but I'm here to post for the challenge this month at ARTastic. We are getting more entries and it's a real pleasure to see each page. We would love to enjoy some more so feel free to head over to ARTastic and join in.

Here is my take on this inspirational painting by Australian indigenous artist Trevor Nickolls.

 The extra criteria this month is to use the colours in the painting.

 A page to show off a cute photo of my eldest with her best friend. These 2 are always there for each other. I have used all sorts of brands for my papers and embellishments to create this page.

I made a banner by punching love hearts and machine stitching them to my page. The tags are shipping tags which I have stamped with some Kaiser craft background stamps. I love the simplicity and ease that these can be made.

For those who have school holidays I hope you enjoy them with your kids.

Burning off

We have had a cold few days in the south of WA and so it's been cosy crafty weather. The 123 challenge is back up and running, YAY, and I did a page of my son doing one of his favourite things with his Dad; burning off.

The criteria was
Word-Year
Colour-Black and 
Technique-twine circles

 I loved doing this page, using up some of my scraps and remembering special times. This fire led us to have a dinner of damper in the bush on our property.

My twine circles are little ones which I hope counts. The corrogated cardboard adds a lot of texture to the page.

Feeding time

We were talking to the children during dinner one night and they wanted to know all the little things that they had done when they were young and I realised how important it was to record even the little habits they done.

So I found photos of my youngest, Ella, having her routine plate of cereal. For this page I joined in with the challenge at Scrap the Girls. The challenge was to use Black, Green and White.

I'm not usually a green girl, but I loved this lime green background paper I found in my paper pile and it matched my photos really well. The chevron paper is the reverse of the black paper where I have put used black lace with the papers. 

I painted with gesso using a doily mask from Kaiser craft and stamped a background stamp over and around it. I have also used a felt black love heart I bought at a discount store. The tag I made using my cuttlebug.

The weather has been cooler here and even some rain so it has been very cosy sitting my craft desk. I hope you are enjoying some craft time as well.

Fabulous Girl

I have done another page on my girl, Amy.

I have used papers and embellishments from the Simple Stories-Fabulous range. A beautiful range to work with. For my inking I dropped some misting ink onto my page and blew it around so it spread.

 Some dahlias from Stampin Up and some pretty ribbon trim I got myself from ARTastic.

The cute bike, title and saying, all come from the die cut sheet. I love the vintage floral look.

Backyard soccer

Hi everyone, sorry I've haven't been here for a bit but I have been busy sewing and crocheting, making presents for loved ones.
Hello to my new followers, I hope you enjoy my pages as much as I admire fellow scrapbookers. What a wonderful craft to share.

For my latest page I scrapped photos of my son and husband playing backyard soccer. The photos weren't the best because of the time of the day and also cause of all the movement, but I so wanted to record this special time together. I did this page for Show us your Stuff. Besides the criteria of a handmade item, the page had to include the word excite/excited/exciting.

 After stamping and texturing the background, I then used paper and diecuts from the range Fancy Pants-Little Sport to bring this page together easily.

 Alpha stickers from the same range.

 My handmade stars that I cut and stitched from felt. I love including my other hobbies into scrapbooking.

Some of the diecuts from the paper range and also the texturing I did using a chicken wire stencil.

Hopefully I won't be gone so long next time ☺.

After sleeping most of yesterday away, I feel so much better today and was eager to finish this page off for the challenge at Sketches with a Twist.

One of my daughter Amy,

The extra criteria with the sketch was texture paint. I have used some as it is, white, and then I coloured some with pink spray ink. Most of the paper I used are from the My Minds Eye range-The Sweetest Thing, Tangerine. I love this range. I have also used little Dahlias from Stampin Up.

 Lollipop flowers I made to match the paper using pinking shears for the edging effect.

The sayings around the page also come from the paper range, totally sums up my Amy. For the chevron I used the Stampin Up banner punch and layered them on top of each other.
