My craft space

Finally I have photos of my craft space.  Because it's upstairs I have been waiting for my husband to clean the windows, too high for me.
It's very nice and clean at the moment as well, so a good time to take photos.

This is my scrapbooking side, the bench comes out and then back in again like this on the other side for my sewing. Lots of room to move and a nice wide bench. I need it once I get scrapbooking!

The cupboard was built in already but I've swapped my kids toys for my stuff. Lots of containers and so far everything organized. I have another cupboard next to it for my stamps and also things I don't use regularly.

My little tins. I got them from the gardening section at the local discount store. Just right for my little tools and pens.

My ribbon pots. Finally I've got my ribbons in some order and stored. These were tea and coffee canisters, also from the discount store.

Now, the best bit, the view I have from my work space. Overlooking the vines of the vineyard we live on,

And the bush we literally have on our door step.  It's so peaceful crafting, with a view like this, I am very blessed.

Spider challenge

Time for another challenge at Lollipop Ladies.

The inspiration is spiders and the extra criteria is to use thread.

Another card for this challenge. I am trying to stock up on boy cards and this was the perfect challenge to add another one to my pile.
I have used a spider from clip art. I much prefer him to the ones that live in my house! I have used different paper to create the background and found this ribbon at my local scrapbook shop. Perfect.
I have stitched in the corners to create a bit of a web look.

Zebra

I'm squeezing this LO in the Bird is the Word challenge - You and Me.  I like to give my kids a security teddy, one they become attached to for when they need a sleep over somewhere or I can give them when they are upset. For my youngest we got a zebra, it needed long legs for her to hold on to but she soon found the tail with the bit of fluff at the end. She would put it under her nose and suck her thumb. At 2 years, she is still very much attached to her zebra, it goes everywhere she goes and friends know Ella as, Ella with her zebra.

I couldn't find a poem for a child and a teddy's 'future' so I made one up. I'm not the world's best poet but it's nice to put my own words in the journalling. The girl and teddy is a wooden embellishment I picked up at a garage sale.

The banner is from the new Stampin Up  punch. I love it.  I added a felt flower and also a bird sticker onto my banner. I have stamped with paint and used a doily with buttons and some paper punched with the Martha Stewart punch - beaded arcs. 

I added some love heart stitching using the sew easy tool from We R Memory Keepers.

I'm happy how this LO turned out and to keep her little Zebby(as Ella calls it) part of  her childhood memories.

Girls

The kids are back at school and I'm enjoying time behind my desk again, that is now all the washing is done and I've caught up on everything, well sort off.
I have done this LO for the challenge for 123 October. The 3 criteria were:

Word: You

Colour: Gold

Must use: leather and or suede and lace

I am trying to get through my old photos and catch up, so this photo was taken when my 3rd child was only 6 months.

I worked on this last night and when I came back to it this afternoon I like the way it was, lol, and so it's left simple which I think works with the busy background.

I have used a different range of papers, some were just from my scrap pile. I have torn and distressed the edges of them to give each one dimension.

My homemade crochet flower. I tried a new pattern and love how it turned out. I have used a leather strap to create another flower behind it. I have also used black Kaiser craft lace under the edge of the paper. I have enjoyed this lace, unfortunately it's my last piece. The criteria of lace, the word, you, and leather are all covered.

I used gold in my title, letters from Creative Memories and also have added in the gold twine.  The journalling tag has a gold border, so I have covered this criteria also.

Lollipop Ladies challenge #31

It's time for another challenge over at Lollipop Ladies. This challenge is inspired by these rather scary lollipops and the theme halloween.

This one was a bit tricky for me because we don't really celebrate halloween, and so I didn't have any stamps for this one. I went on the internet and found this cute little guy over at this site.

I have paper pieced him together and backed him onto torn paper and book print. The book print actually matches the theme which was a bit coincidental. I have used my new stampin up tree stamp from the set-Forever Young, on the base of the card to create the halloween scene.

Justine's frog

Justine, my daughter, has made this card for the Lollipop Ladies challenge. The kids have school holidays so I have company when I'm crafting.

She has got the idea for this card from one of the Stampin up catalogues.

Justine has done the movement criteria, with representing water movement with rhinestones.

1 birthday, 2 parties

My son, Kyle, has his birthday in January which for us it's always school holidays. This means his class party is always about 2 weeks later.  He thinks his birthday goes on forever.

I did this page for Get Picky, the photos suited their inspiration challenge - Celebrate.

I struggled with this LO because I really wanted to keep all the photos together to give the memory of how much his birthday involved. In the end I kept the embellishments simple, so the LO wouldn't become overly busy. I'm happy with how it turned out, sometimes a LO has to grow on me.
                        
                          I have handstitched the strings of the balloons I cut from my paper,
                  
                        
                  and on the other side placed a calendar tag, backed by some scrap paper I had.
                      
                        
I used a shipping tag, which I stamped with a background stamp from Kaiser craft to add my title, and then I journalled on some notepaper.

Well I'm finishing off here because I'm posting this past midnight; had to get this page done :), and it's time for bed.
With holidays, my days are tied up so there won't be many posts from me till later this month. Just the one from Lollipop Ladies challenge next week.  See you then.
