Our Summer

Every summer consists of 2 weeks vacational swimming lessons down at the beach which means full days of sun, swim and fun.
I have snuck this LO in for the Artastic Challenge. I had it ready but wasn't completely happy with it. I really wanted the collage photos to give the feel of the days we spent at the beach but it didn't look right when I went to post it, so I took it back to the craft desk and added little elements around the page. It was what it needed but only just in time for the deadline.

My 3 elements met are:

1.Palm trees or leaves - mine are on the pattern paper

2. Beach photos-done

3. 2 or 3 beach embellishments- I have stamped little beach huts onto chipboard, a canvas beach tag and some shells.

A cute canvas beach tag from Kaiser craft with some buttons and shells, finally have a use for the over supply of shells at our house ☺

A quick post from me tonight since it's after midnight and my bed is calling. Hopefully on the weekend I can finally post what I have been crafting in secret!!

Shy birthday girl

Ella my youngest wasn't too sure about all the attention from her siblings on her birthday and was very 'shy'. It was so cute.
I did this LO for the challenge over at Scrap the Girls which was to do a LO on a celebration.

The pattern papers I've used are from Simple Stories - Happy Days paper pad. I love how this range is away from the normal bright birthday papers. The more earthy colours suits the mood of the photo. I had fun making the bunch of balloons in the corner making them 3D and tying a bunch of twine from them.

This birthday chipboard is from Stuff 2 Scrap. I've inked the edges with chocolate chip ink. I have added  some flower brads. The shipping tag I stamped with a background stamp from Kaiser craft.

All being well, I'll post another LO tomorrow; yes I had an influx of scrapping.

Scooting along

My blog has been neglected this month. Not because I haven't been scrapping, but because I can't show what I've done since it's for someone.
A great craft day with my friend last week changed that and now I have some LOs done for some challenges.
The first one I've finished is for Sketches with a Twist. I have not done the chevron pattern before so I was eager to enter this challenge. My good friend showed me how to do it with a square punch and cutting the squares into triangles, then positioning them to form the pattern.
For the rest I've kept this LO pretty simple because the chevron and my nice bright papers did enough themselves.

  I have used papers I have had for a while, waiting for the right photos that could use bright papers. My title is from foam letters I found at K-mart for $1. I love finding little bargains. 

I inked this chipboard butterfly from Stuff 2 scrap with pink ink and the journalling is done on a rub on from Kaiser craft which I have backed with a scalloped circle punch. I used a number of them to get the right size. The twist element - 3 identical embellishments; my paper roses.

A little cluster of embellies for the sketch requirement and to add a bit more touch to the LO.
