Sweetie

Hello there, I have not scrapped much at all this month and I have been missing it but April is a very busy month for us. We have also enjoyed a relaxing holiday as family at home and I have also had to do sewing for my nieces wedding.

I have managed to do this layout for the challenge of Mint with White for the challenge blog

  White with One.

I have used some of the printables from the blog itself and some of my own my scrap papers.  

For the two types of butterflies I used texture paint with a stencil and also used a butterfly punch, punching first out of a mint colour cardstock then with white transparency, finishing them off with pearls.

With holidays finishing this week and husband back at work, it will be very quiet here again. May you enjoy your Anzac holiday, lest we forget.

Farewell for a friend

We are into April- a month that is full of birthdays, a wedding anniversary, and holidays for our family. Busy and fun, and that is what the challenge is at ARTastic this month, taking the inspiration of fun also from today, April Fools day☺.

Criteria is anything goes but your photos must depict crazy antics, silliness or just having loads of fun.

My page for this month is done using photos from a surprise farewell party my daughter organised for a friend. And yes, she was totally surprised☺

 I went with the main colour of orange from the painting because of it's bright and fun feel to it. I created a banner using my photos and added bits of scrap paper here and there also using the black and white from the painting. I left the white space alone and was happy how it draws the photos out.

I love shipping tags. They are cheap and a little blank canvas if you want to do more. Here I have added a paper doily and a rub on, then tied on some natural twine.

It has been fun seeing the DT layouts and the things our kids, us or relatives get or have got up to. Have a look and we would also love to see your fun pages.

Hello and how are you?

I have completed a LO for the challenge at Once Upon A Sketch, using one of my favourite photos of my youngest. The challenge was using the following quote:

I have created my background by splattering ink drops on my page and then I used tags and I fussy cut hexagon paper to back the photo. I haven't done a banner for a while and I have missed making them, and so I just had to make one for this page using different punch shapes and buttons.

I love watching my children grow up and how they see the world individually, taking me with them as the chatter about their discoveries.  The fun part of being a Mum.

My nephew

Hello all,

Another page turned on the calendar and March is here. We had an enjoyable long weekend here in West Australia. We spent the weekend camping with my extended family which is very special. ARTastic has the new challenge for the month which is inspired by this painting by:

 Lyn Butchart - Bluebirds

with the criteria being, texture.

When my nephew was born I gave his parents a gift of a canvas using precious photos my brother took of him.

I first covered the canvas with dress making pattern paper and painted it over with gesso paint. Then it was fun with rub ons, stamping, chipboard and background papers. 

I'm very happy to say my brother and sister-in-law loved their gift. I love handmade gifts myself and enjoy making them just as much.

My sweet girl

I am having a lazy day at home today with my little one and so while she was playing with playdough I managed to put this page together for the mood board challenge at JOT magazine.

 I concentrated on using papers for this page so I left the background clean. Once again I used the paper range My Mind's Eye-the sweetest thing. I'm so in love with this range. ☺I distressed all my edges but didn't ink them to give them dimension while blending in. 

I added in these cute flowers and a chipboard banner which is from the range of My Mind's Eye-find your wings and fly.

We have a long weekend this coming weekend, which we are spending as a family and then we are into March. Amazing. So I'll see you next month.

Memories

Hello all,

It's been busy here with my husband doing a lot of night work of harvesting wine grapes, leaving me to run the household more on my own but I managed to take snippets of time to complete this page for the challenge at Scrap Africa. The challenge was to alter chipboard and use it on your layout. I love chipboard so I couldn't leave this challenge☺.

 I have had this chipboard tree for ages, waiting for the right page. This photo from 2 of my girls walking their dolls down a beautiful bush path, which is just down the road from our house, made me want to use the tree☺. I have also used and covered some chipboard butterflies. The paper range I used for this page is My Mind's Eye-the sweetest thing.

 A close up of my tree which I painted with gesso, stamped it with a script stamp and added buttons using string and twine.

These butterflies I covered with paper, sanded the edges and couldn't resist a bit of bling on each. 2 of the butterflies I left raw, just inking the edges a little bit.

When scrapbooking there are some pages that just work so well, and this was one of them. It all came together really well.

Summer

Hello ☺.
I have allowed myself to have a week of basic housework and the rest of the day crafting. Bit of sewing, crocheting and of course scrapbooking. I joined the challenge at Scrap Africa this month, I always love sketch challenges because it prevents me from scrapping in the same layout all the time.

 I machined stitched my circle element and used them to centre my clusters of flowers and a cute sticker cloud, which I had to add a button and a little rose☺.

A mix of products to make up my little cluster and journalling which I have done on the computer.

It was an easy and simple sketch to work with, just the way I like them. Hope you are all well and keeping safe.
