Grandad and Grandma

Hello and welcome to February,
I'm starting this month with my DT page for our challenge at ARTastic using the following painting by Josh Miels, for the inspiration, especially the colour palette.

My page is a created using a photo of my parents which will go in one of my children's albums.  My parents are getting older and it seems even more important to also include these photos.

 Using a given colour palette made this page easy to put together. I first fussy cut some rose paper for my corners using the flowers in the painting as my inspiration then used scraps for my page. I embellished my page with flowers, lace and buttons. 

I love to add bunting when I can, and often they help in tying different elements together or filling an empty space.

Please feel welcome to also be inspired by our challenge, we would love to see your take.

Tomorrow starts a whole new period in my life, with my youngest starting school. We have enjoyed our 6 weeks summer break very much, but all good things come to an end. And with all 4 children at school I don't know if I'll be busier or have more time :-). I'm sure to find out.

Beautiful You

Hi there,
I'm enjoying every day down at the beach while my 2 youngest do swimming lessons and at night some scrapbooking time. I have done my page for the challenge at White with One which is combining with the challenge blog Sketchabilities.
The colour was placid blue along with this sketch:

I've used a photo from when my youngest was a bit smaller, but just as intrigued with everything :-).

 I have misted my background using a stencil for some circle effects and used stitching to complete the circle embellishment. I have also done background stamping using a script stamp. I have different paper ranges for this page.

I love how the blues bring out the photo by contrasting with her pink shirt.

Summer holidays bring no routines, relaxed days and easy dinners, so I am enjoying this time of the year. I hope you are as well, weather you have winter or summer :-).

My hero

Hello and welcome,
What a great way to start the New Year by being able to post a scrapbook page for you😊.
ARTastic has had a fresh start with a new look blog and different dates for the year. The first challenge is inspired by this cute painting by Fintan Magee

The criteria this month is Anything goes!

Now for my page:

 I went with the hero theme, and the grunge feel of the painting. My son has Autism and each day is a challenge for him so he is my hero. I have used different papers and packaging to create my page. My colours are inspired from the painting but I swapped the red for orange.

 I'm not allowed to use flowers on his page, since his theory is they are for girls😊 so I have crocheted circles and made circle embellishments.

 Another circle I crocheted along with a wooden arrow.

I would like to wish you a happy and blessed 2015, and may you have a year full of great memories. Thank you for you support and comments on my posts this last year. I love hearing from you. This year will be a different year for me with all of my 4 children going to school😒. I still have to get use to the idea and I'm not sure if I look forward to the quiet it will bring, but I have plenty of crafts to fill my days and I hope to continue sharing them with you.

Today I'm back with a page for the challenge at Scrap the Girls which is using a beautiful mood board for inspiration. I'm loving the mood board challenges.
My page:

 I wanted to try something new, and do a watercolour background. It was a fun way to make a background and my youngest girl thought so to, making sure she got some painting in of her own. I then misted and texture painted some butterflies to add to the background. For this page I have used the beautiful paper range Bo Bunny-Prairie Chic Collection.

Today is the last day of school for my children before their big summer break so it will be on and off for my scrapbooking over the next 6 weeks, as I enjoy my children at home.

Christmas holidays

Hello,

I've been spending the last school days, quietly at home, before the rush of the holidays. It has been so nice to take time out. I am on the second lot of DT work for ARTastic this month. We have gone with a colour palette this month, based on this fun painting by Ethel Spowers.

My page is scrapped using photos from our Christmas holidays last year which we spent camping with friends.

I have done lots of background stamping and used chipboard embellishments. Using different papers for backing my photos allowed me to use some of my scraps. The butterfly paper is from a packet of flowers I bought. Love up cycling.

We have some great entries into this challenge and we would love to see some more, so if you have a spare minute, please feel welcome to join in this month at ARTastic.

Summer

It's December and for us in Australia, that means summer. Show us Your Stuff has a great mood board challenge to welcome Summer in.

And now for my page which I was inspired to do:

 I used an old paper range from Echo park called Summer fun. Love the bright colours. The kids and I had some fun with Fimo so that is my handmade item for the challenge. 

And another page with my new flower punch.☺

I have my scrapbooking time and mojo back; yay.

As promised tonight I have another scrapbook page, this one for the challenge at Let's Get Shabby, with a picture for inspiration

I loved the elegance this picture portrayed and straight away thought of my daughter's photo, which was perfect since she was looking the same way as the lady in the picture and just as pretty, although I might be a little biased☺. 

 I based my layout on the picture too with the photo down the bottom and of course, the colours were inspiring too.

My prima flower cluster and a doily to add a little bit of vintage to the page.

These flowers are made from a new punch I got, which I layered in 3 lots. This punch will be used a lot I think, cause I love how they turned out.

Off to do a DT page which I can't reveal yet and then to find another challenge to join. It is so nice to be back at my craft desk.
