An award

Hi all,

I have been awarded a blogger award the
by a great blogger herself,
Diane Hasthorpe from http://mytawnyinspirations.blogspot.com.au.

A bit about the award (I've snaffled this info. from Diane's post). This award was designed to be a blog award in the pay it forward fashion. Once you've been nominated, you  award it to blogs that you like, that have fewer than 200 followers, to encourage  visitors to these new blogs.

Rules for Acceptance.
Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to their blog. Give the award to 5 bloggers who you appreciate, that have fewer than 200 followers. Leave a comment on their blog to let them know that you have given them this awesome award.

For the 5 blogs that I have forwarded this on to are:

I hope you enjoy these blogs as much as I do, and thanks Diane for choosing my blog for this award.

Amy

After sleeping most of yesterday away, I feel so much better today and was eager to finish this page off for the challenge at Sketches with a Twist.
One of my daughter Amy,
The extra criteria with the sketch was texture paint. I have used some as it is, white, and then I coloured some with pink spray ink. Most of the paper I used are from the My Minds Eye range-The Sweetest Thing, Tangerine. I love this range. I have also used little Dahlias from Stampin Up.

Lollipop flowers I made to match the paper using pinking shears for the edging effect.

The sayings around the page also come from the paper range, totally sums up my Amy. For the chevron I used the Stampin Up banner punch and layered them on top of each other.

beach days

Hi there,

It's been nice with the kids back to school and the routine it brings, except I have now been struck with a flu I can't get rid off which is making it hard for me to get motivated.
I have done a page for the ARTastic challenge this month which is focused on this painting by Charles Meere,

Enjoying 2 weeks of swimming lessons during the summer break. We take a packed lunch and usually spend the whole day at the beach. This page used a lot of my bits and pieces which is good.

Hope to see your creations over at ARTastic and be in the running for some great prizes.

I have a page I've nearly completed, hopefully I can get some energy up to finish it and share it with you soon.

Grandad and Amy

My summer holidays at the moment involve two weeks of vac swim at the beach and so we have enjoyed the sun and relaxing time it provides but doesn't leave much time for crafting. We had one miserable day so it was a lazy day at home so I had time to complete another page. This one I did for Stuck Sketches, first time to enter into one of their great challenges.

A page of my Dad with Amy, these 2 have a special bond.
I misted the background using a chicken wire template before adding layers of paper, flowers and doilies. The quote is from Kaiser craft rub on quotes.

Some texturing using a bird stencil

The different layers with a chipboard heart for the love these 2 have for each other.

I'm glad I found the time to join and had fun scrapping this photo with the sketch providing a good base but allowing my own style as well.

Cuddles with Pop

I'm back this month with the first ARTastic challenge for the year. This challenge is to use chalk or wings or even both using this amazing 3D chalk art by Jenny McCracken for inspiration.

I scrapped a cute photo of my youngest having a cuddle with her Pop.
I used the colours of the artwork and chalked my background using flower stencils and smudging chalk. My quote is from the Kaiser craft rub on quotes. There are a lot of quotes on the one sheet and they are all beautiful.

I got a new stamp and matching punch from Stampin Up which I used as my wings. To get the different colours I sponged the ink on before punching them out.

There are so many ways to interpret this challenge and we'd love to see your work. Join in and there are also great prizes to win.

Summer fishing

The challenge at Scrap the Boys is to scrap a favourite holiday/summer activity. There is no denying that for my son it is fishing.
I bought a new stamp set from Stampin Up called clockworks. It's a great versatile set with clock pieces and the textured stamp I used for my background. I have used papers from My Minds Eye-Fine and Dandy.

I bought these shells from our local discount store which stocks a large range of craft items.

Different fibres and twine to create a bow on my canvas tag.

Scrap the Boys has a Design Team call at the moment as well if you are interested in joining in.
