Sisters

February is here along with all new scrapbooking challenges.
ARTastic challenge blog has one with the criteria of using paint/painting on your page along with this inspiration piece.

For my DT page I used watercolour (my favourite at the moment) behind my photo.
I loved all the colours swirled together in the inspiration piece and I have used this to add different colours to my page. I defined the colours behind my photos with black paint. For my title, I used gesso over the chipboard and then water painted it green.

For me, February started with the children going back to school and with a niece over to visit making for quiet but crafty days ☺︎.

Moments to Treasure

Hello,

I had lots of fun creating a page for the Let's Get Sketchy challenge with this sketch,

My background was created with modelling paste, mist and watercolour, along with background stamping. I drew in my circle elements. My photos I backed with different papers and tags.

I couldn't resist adding some crochet flowers to match my daughter's crocheted headband. I love using my other crafts to embellish my pages and in this way show my children a bit of me through out their albums.

I'm enjoying the start of this year, enjoying the kid's holidays and some relaxing time together at home. I hope your start to 2016 is enjoyable as well.
Till next time, happy crafting.

Little Miss

Hello,

I've been enjoying a week of relaxation with the kids. It's been very hot and so it has been a lot of time spent indoors; so time for scrapbooking☺︎.
I've done this page for Scrap The Girls, which is a free page this month. There is this sketch provided for anyone that would like some guidance.

I have roughly used the sketch for my page,
Lots of misting, texture paint and background stamping for my background using the colours of my daughter's dress. I have made paper clouds to add for my embellishments along with a fabric button and flowers.

Close up of some of the elements of my page.

Thank you for popping by.

Life Experiences

Hello and welcome to 2016. I'm happy to be back on the team for ARTastic this year and I'm looking forward to providing some inspiration for our challenges☺︎.
So to start off we have a beach painting for inspiration because in Australia, Summer means beach days for many people.
For your page we would love to see what Summer means to you.

Living in a small coastal town in Western Australia, we spend a lot of time at the beach. We have swimming beaches a walk up the road and surf beaches and coastal rocks to explore just a 20min drive away.
The page I created is made using a photo of my girls busy rock climbing and loving the outdoors.
I watercolored my background and used texture paint to create my triangles. I then traced with the same triangle stencil.

A little flower cluster and some fibres to embellish my page.

This cluster I created using doilies, wooden button, clothing tag and a tag made by stamping on a shipping tag.

I look forward to another year of scrapbooking myself and being inspired by other scrapbookers this year☺︎.

Taking Selfies

Hi there,

I have managed to squeeze a page in before the end of the year. We had a quiet Christmas allowing us some catch up time at home including a bit of scrapbooking.
I did my page for the mood board challenge at Scrap the Girls.

Such deep colours which I hope comes up on my page.

I watercolored my background and instead of using the butterfly stencil for paint etc. I used it to draw around making the butterflies. I have seen this done around the scrapbook blog world and love the effect. The brickwork behind the photo I made with chipboard on my cuttlebug and then painted it red.

A cluster of flowers with a wooden butterfly to finish off my page. I am proud that I have finally managed to complete a page with lots of white space. Normally I end up filling some of it in.

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and may God bless your 2016.
See you for more Scrapbooking fun next year

Girls

Hello,

Today I have a page for the challenge at Scrap Around The World. Sadly this will be their last challenge but I must say they are leaving with a beautiful bang with this mood board,

The page I created using so many of the inspirations, but mainly the beautiful berry colour,
I used water colour paints for my background, painting first on an acrylic sheet and then pressing onto my paper. Did some background script stamping and then layered my photo several times.

I love this doily die cut, so dainty and pretty. I cut out the arrows from white card and then water painted them in the same colour as I used for the background. The buntings are fussy cut from a paper pad and then I tied them with some string and a bow. A few gold sequins for a bit of bling!

I also like to thank Pinterest because I found beautiful pages for inspiration; so many creative and amazing people out there.
Thank you for popping by and hope to see you soon again.

Christmas Concert

Hello December and hello to the holiday/busy season.
ARTastic has a challenge to fit in with the festive season but the painting can be used in any way you feel inspiration☺︎.
The criteria this month is Gold.

I have concentrated on Christmas and scrapped a photo of 2 of my kids at a complimentary Christmas concert at the local caravan park my parents stay at when they come up.
I have stuck to the colours from the inspiration painting and did a lot of inking and texture painting to create my background. I had bought gold glitter paper where the glitter doesn't come off and used this for most of my elements on my page including my title.

Close up of my gold star and frame which I used from die cuts. I also used background paper with the negative cuts of stars which I had punched to use on other parts of my page.

Thank you for supporting ARTastic this year and I look forward to being DT for ARTastic again next year. It looks to be a good year.
