Special Sisters

Justine my eldest has been a 2nd Mum to my youngest and will do anything for her. Wow it's easier when there's older siblings to help out even if it's just to hold them while I get things done. I did this LO for a new challenge for me over at The Scraproom blog.

I have turned the sketch to suit the photos. I have backed the photos with Kaiser craft paper and plain white paper which I have stamped with a grid background stamp. I have used a ribbon with wire so I could pleat it to give it a bit of dimension.

I crocheted some love heart embellishments to add to the LO.

I have made my butterflies embellishments using stamp with scallop circles, 2 wooden butterfly buttons and a metal butterfly. I have stitched the the dashed lines of the butterfly. I love how it turned out.

I have had a busy week so scrapping didn't really happen, but I'm looking forward to a quiet week next week and new challenges coming out so till then, happy crafting.

Simple

I couldn't believe how hard I found it too make a simple card following the sketch at Just add Ink.  But I'm pretty pleased how it turned out.
Not much too explain really. I inked the edges of the text to make it stand out and used lace from Kaiser craft. The paper is from a paper pack which I bought at a local discount store.

Till next time, happy crafting.

Lady bugs

I love ladybugs and so I joined in with the challenge at Cupcake Inspirations.
I spent another craft day with a friend, we are having them regularly, which is great because these days are always special, also for the kids.
Here is the card I made:
Sorry about the photo quality, I finished it late in the afternoon of an overcast day so I couldn't use natural light. I have used Kaiser craft Jungle stamps and added embellishments including American craft rub ons in the corner, adds a nice texture look, a doily and trim from Creative bits, some stamped flowers and paper flowers.
The colours are a lot brighter in real life and it is a nice cheery card for a birthday.

Well better get it linked up before I run out of time.  I'll be back tomorrow with some more cards and hopefully another LO.

Just like her mum

With 3 girls and 2 already right into crafting, plus me, our house always looks like some craft shop and I love it. I did this LO of Amy busy having some craft time with her friend.  I joined in the challenge from Beyond the Door, using the colours, lights and the room being a craft room for my inspiration.
First I splattered ink using circle masks to create a background. I have used Kaiser craft papers and journalling tag, background stamp and brad.  I have also embellished with a doily and trim from Creative Bits.

Hope you like it and thank you for all the beautiful comments I receive.

Brother and sister

I love rainy days, firstly because we live off the land and need rain desperately and second because it's nice and cosy while I'm crafting. So this weekend I did another LO, this time a new challenge for me from Artastic. I enjoy challenges with key things to be included, and for this challenge they were:
1. Two People in the photo = 1pt
2. Use striped pp = 2pts
3. Include a boat somewhere on the layout3pts

I did a LO of a very special photo for me, one of my son and youngest daughter. My son hates photos and so for him to actually pose is amazing and then to have him have a natural smiling face is another plus.
I have used a range of papers, and bordered the page and the photo. I have added a Kaiser craft journal tag and stamped it with a bubble wrap textured stamp also from Kaiser craft. The top and bottom is punched with the Martha Stewart beaded arch punch.

Some home made crochet circles, I'm enjoying these, a boat button and another tag(with more boats) that I received as a freebie.  The doily trim is from Creative Bits.

Some rub ons and more texture stamping
A Kaiser craft brad and some hand stitching.

I enjoyed this challenge and hope to join in more of them.  Hope you had a great weekend and have a blessed week.

Creative girl

My eldest daughter, Justine, inherited some good genes from me. She loves to create, whether out in the garden or doing craft of some sort. I scrapped some photos of her using the June 123 challenge of:

COLOUR: BROWN
WORD: CREATE
TECHNIQUE: USING TAPE - DECORATIVE/MASKING
I chalked the background with brown to create a dirt look. My decorative tape is used as a border and to highlight my journalling. I had bought the big flower in a special and have been waiting to use it.  I have also added some rub ons from American craft and doilies from Creative Bits.

My beautiful big flower with 2 other paper flowers and a chipboard button.

I found this vintage tag among my things and added my new paper flowers. I love those parcels that come to my door.

Well I'm off to scrap some more and hopefully be back soon with some more LOs.

Happy crafting

Special Bond

These photos share the special bond Amy has with her Grandad.  When Grandad is around no-one else matters, it's beautiful. I did this LO for Once upon a Sketch. A friend introduced me to this challenge when we spent a craft day together yesterday. It's for the May 15th challenge.
I first painted the background using watered down ink.

I've had these 'rainy day' stickers forever. I first stuck them to chipboard and then cut them out to give them a bit more dimension. The flower my friend crocheted me, I love the colour.

Some more stickers, and another one of the tags I got with a scrapbook magazine.

Raindrops made out of rhinestones.

Here is the sketch, head over to Once Upon a Sketch to join in.
