Princess party

I have made a card. It feels like it's been such a long time but in the holidays they are a nice quick project rather then a LO.  I made this card for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #119.
I have water coloured in this magnolia stamp and paper pieced the cupcake. So cute.

A close up of my little cluster of embellishments. I like using the little paper roses, they can cluster together without taking too much space and along with other flowers they look so dainty.

I love the brightness( if it's a word) of the card and will have to save it for a cute little girl. My girl is turning 2 next week but I don't think the card will last in her hands. Little monkey!

Till next time, happy crafting.

Me

Wow, the challenge over at ARTastic was a hard one for me this month. Mainly to do a layout of myself, but also firstly, to get in front of the camera instead of behind.
The challenge was based on this painting,

     and also:
1. A Color or Black and White pic ofyourself =  1pt
2. Shades of Red and Maroon colors (Monochramatic) = 2pts
3. Include a hat or gloves somewhere on the layout = 3pts

My finished LO. I have gone with Maroon, being close to my favourite colour.  I have sponged ink in the background with a doily mask.  I have ripped my papers and layered them to form my background for my photo.

I have a new printer! Yay, I can computer journal again. I was playing around on my computer and came across this cool journalling block.  I have focused on the 4 closest things to my heart for my journalling. The love heart stamp is from Stampin Up set Gentler Times stamped in Cranberry Crisp, with some rhinestones added.

My hat and gloves. I made gloves out of lace. So elegant. I have also handstitched the side of the LO and a rub on from American Craft as well. The stamp is from the set as the love heart.

My handmade crochet flowers put together to form one flower.

I'm really happy with the end result and hope you like it too. The school holidays are keeping me busy along with visitors so scrapbooking is not really happening lately, unfortunately.  Hopefully it won't be too long between posts.

Little Sleeper

I did a LO of a series of photos of Ella sleeping anywhere. I did this LO for the challenge at Bird is the Word and the word being Hope.
I don't like my hand writing but I try and use it because it's a part of me for the kid's albums.  I have handstitched the top left corner to create a border. The big love heart in the bottom corner I have cut from the paper to go over my circle background.

I have stamped and used stickers for my title. Added some embellishments using doilies from Creative bits and a chipboard button. I have also added a stamped butterfly behind.

Another lot of embellies using another doily and some paper flowers with a brad and a butterfly cut from a ribbon.

I love doing multi photo LOs because it feels like I'm catching up.
My eldest daughter is sewing her first patchwork quilt so I have been tied up helping her but hopefully I'll get some scrapping done soon.

Blue Eyes

I have had this beautiful photo of my youngest waiting to be scrapped and when I saw the Inspiration challenge over at Get Picky, I straight away thought of it.
I have kept it fairly simple. I found a paper pad in Big W from DCWV called the Green Stack.  It has a lot of cute papers included. I have backed the photo with a different range of papers.

I have stamped little trees from Stampin Up set Funky Four. Added some lace behind and some paper flowers in front.  I have also handstitched around this corner and the opposite corner.

Our printer is not connecting so I had to hand journal. Not my  favourite but it came out alright. I have used rub ons from American Crafts - Accents to border my journalling and a few around the LO.

I love how it came together and it actually didn't take me that long for a change. The kids have the last day of school today before holidays so either I'll get more time to craft or I'll be way too busy. We'll see how I go.

Photo Shoot

I did a LO for the Stuff2Scrap challenge which is:
July Challenge:
to create a page/card/otp with some of MY favorite things
1. paint/ink/sprays
2. masking/stamping
3. circles
4. chipboard
5. layering

You ONLY need to use a minimum of 3 of the above items mentioned, any amount.

I think I ended up using all of them, which made me realize how much I did on a LO sometimes.
I did my LO on a series of photos while trying to get the right one. Never did happen! I have used a co-ordinate paper and embellishment kit which I got given to me so unfortunately I don't know the name of it.  I have used the back and front of the paper behind my 3 photos on the side and added some rub ons at the bottom.

I cut out the paper dolls that are printed on the paper and I have used the alphabet stickers too. I added some rub ons from American crafts - Accent pack. The Sister chipboard is from Stuff2Scrap which I have stamped using Stampin Up Sprinkles set and old olive stamp pad.

I have used rub ons from the pack, and from a set I bought from the local discount store.  I crocheted the love heart using fine cotton and the beautiful doily comes from Creative Bits. I sanded the backing card of my photo to add a different dimension.

The challenge lasts till the end of the month, so join in, there's plenty of time to have a go.

Thank-you for all your beautiful comments on my last entry; till next time, happy crafting.

Happy 2nd Let's Get Shabby

It's Let's Get Shabby's 2nd birthday and to remember it, their challenge was to use 2 things of the list of items and include 2 in the project.  I did a LO of my daughter Amy who loooves photos.
I have used material and ribbon. I love the colour of the inspiration photo and used it along with pink of course. I have sewn on my border paper sometimes with and without thread.

I have added paper flowers with pearls and rhinestones, and added some blue netting ribbon(don't know the exact name).

I have made more flowers with different fabrics. I also had some fabric with flowers and butterflies from my patchwork which I have cut out. It came out really cute. I have added pearls to the flowers to add dimension.

My butterfly, I cut out and added glitter to make it sparkle.  Added more ribbon, homemade stamped tag and homemade crochet flower. I love adding my other crafts into my LO.

Hope you like it and head over to Let's Get Shabby to wish them a Happy Birthday.

Special Son

Back with a LO this time for the July 1st sketch from Once Upon A Sketch.  There was also a journalling requirement which was:  Journalling Criteria: Who is in the photo? Name the person in the photo and at least 1 fact about them. This can be personality, character, talent , achievement etc. but it must be at least 2 sentences long.
I did my LO on our son Kyle, who at 7 years, was diagnosed with Autism.  We had many years of struggles and heartache with no-one listening before our lives were opened up to a wonderful group of doctors and therapists who have helped us through this journey. We also take this journey in the comfort that our LORD  has given us this special child of His, and will continue to give us the strength we need.
My bunting made of love hearts. I have inked the yellow with Sepia to give it a bit more lift. I have stamped with Kaiser craft grunge background stamp. I have also pierced around the main background paper which is from Kaiser craft ( I threw out the name of the paper, Sorry).

My journalling which I have stamped with another Kaiser craft background stamp first, added a rub on along the side and a metal tag which I've saved from some clothing.

Some more embellishment using doilies from Creative bits. I had to convince Kyle they weren't flowers!

Here is the sketch if you would like to join in, or head over to Once Upon a Sketch.

I have a quiet week ahead, fingers crossed, so hopefully I'll get some crafting done and be back soon.
