Live fully

Hi there,

I couldn't help but join in the challenge at Let's Get Shabby this month. It's to be inspired by your favourite book. There is no question my favourite book is One Thousand Gifts, a book close to my heart. I have read this book but open it up every day for more encouragement in counting God's blessings all around us.

My page is of my precious girl, using the words from the book for my title,
Along with the words from the book I have used the colours as my inspiration. I love the feeling these colours give and felt they suited this photo perfectly.

These words have been an encouragement for me and I hope they will be for my daughter as well.

My cluster of photos and a cute little saying; and so true. Some of my flowers are from prima the others are homemade.

It was enjoyable doing this challenge and gave me a new view of this book.

Playdough fun

Welcome to August, another month for scrapbooking fun. My first page is my DT page for ARTastic Challenge Blog. The challenge is inspired by this fun fabric painting by Kristen Doran, with the criteria of using fabric in your layout.

For my page I focused on the camping side of this painting and used the colours as my inspiration.

We had a wonderful camping trip with friends and these 2 girls had so much fun, including playing with playdough on a day of drizzle. I splatted mist around my page and then added papers and different elements.

My fabric lollipop flower I cut using pinking shears. I found this cute love heart button at the craft shop where I help out.

I have also added some doilies and made some fabric buttons. I love making buttons, it's a quick craft but so effective.

The busy period of holidays are over and also time spent working so I'm aiming to sit behind my craft desk a lot more than I have been lately. Thanks for your patience and I hope I can inspire you this month.

Amazin

Hi all,

It's been school holidays here with a few days to go, so busy, busy. I have joined in with CSI for their latest challenge as this month they are also joined up with ARTastic for a challenge.
I have used the sketch along with the code:
My page,
We visited a hedge maze which took 19 years to grow and was very tricky as you couldn't see through the hedges at all. The kids had lots of fun. My hexagons were cut from paper and distressed and edges inked. I kept the page simple as the photos had their own story.

I added some texture paint using a stencil to add a bit of dimension and drops of mist.

I have another page ready to photograph so I will be back soon with that one. Wishing you a happy week.

Wondering

Hello July.
I started this month in hospital with my little girl which was not the greatest way to start the second half of the year, but we are home now and hopefully she continues to get better.
Because of this I am a little late, at posting the exciting news that ARTastic is joining up with CSI for the July challenge.

It was a lot of fun joining in and using the CSI criteria made it simple to put a page together. So for this months inspiration painting with the criteria of striped paper

and CSI case file,

I have created this page:
I went with the beach theme for my inspiration. The beach is part of our life; we live near it and we holiday near it. This time we were on holidays, enjoying fun in the dunes.
I have used for my evidence the floral print for my background, distressing(of course), labels and stripes. For my testimony I have used the vacation theme and stripes for my journalling.

Join in for a double chance of winning or your work being admired☺.  The challenge lasts for the month of July. Thank you CSI for having us join in with you.

Gorgeous Girl

Hello,
We have had winter set in here, in the south-west of Australia and it's actually been very cosy with the stormy weather. Great time to stay home and do some scrapbooking☺.
I've done a page for the Jot magazine mood board.
Beautiful isn't it?

And my page of my youngest, posing once again for me☺.

I did misting and stamping to create the background, then layered it with papers using the doily as my base. I have also put some washi tape behind the doily.

My cluster of flowers, mainly from prima.

Another big flower from prima which is on the background packaging from some flowers. I love how prima make their packaging reusable, with cute graphics. I stamped my title using Kikki.K alphabet stamps. I am bad at getting something new and not wanting to use them. I love keeping it clean and neat for a bit. This was the case with these stamps but now I have used them, I will be using them again as they turned out nice and clear.

I have enjoyed the challenges this month.  I will be doing some relief teaching the next few weeks but hopefully I won't be too tired to scrapbook☺.
Thank you for popping by.

Awww

Hello and welcome,
I have a cute page for you today of my youngest. This Mum, first took a photo of her upset at her sister before helping them sort it out. I couldn't resist☺, sometimes kids look adorable when they are a little upset.
I've used the Scrap the Girls challenge for this page, which was to use their new blog banner for inspiration.
And here is my page:
You do have to admit, she does look very cute when she is not impressed☺. I have used different papers for this page, picking up the pinks and greens. The background is done with texture paint and then misting using the same stencil but offsetting them from each other. This page ties in with another page I did here, that is why the journalling is written the way it is and the background is created the same.

I used the banner from the blog to inspire my elements bordering the bottom of the photo, using rolled flowers, fabric flowers and rhinestones.

Some more bling and flowers along with a cut out of a girl which I backed to give more dimension.

I love the new look of Scrap the Girls blog and it was great inspiration for this page.
Thanks for popping by and seeing my work, I hope you enjoyed it.

Balancing

Hello, it was a quiet weekend here at home, perfect to finish the journalling on some of my pages. I completed this page for the challenge at Show Us Your Stuff. Their challenge this month is a fun one; using the following recipe:
Handmade Item, Sprinkling of stars, Dash of sequins, Title using 2 different alphas, 3 buttons/flairs, 2 photos and 1 arrow.
Here is my page
I have used Bo Bunny paper range as my basis for this page. I distressed all the edges, once again☺and inked them. For my stars I have punched them out of the co-ordinating papers and also inked their edges. The wooden arrow is from WOW, they are great to leave raw as they have a beautiful grain to them.

My handmade item are these cute flowers my Mum crocheted out of fine cotton.

I fussy cut some butterflies for placing around my page. Sequins were a fun touch to this recipe, it's the first time I used them and I'm sure I'll be using them again!

I'm enjoying being able to complete challenges this month and get through some photos waiting to be scrapped. Will be soon☺.
