Be True

Hello,
I finally have a page that I can share with you. I have been busy with my family, work and other crafts so it was good to sit down and join in a scrapbook challenge again☺︎.
I have joined in with the mood board challenge from Scrap the Girls.
Such a pretty mood board.

I loved the elegance of the mood board and tried to keep this feel in my page. My background is created using texture paint, water paint and mist.
The rest of my embellies are mixed from my scrapbooking cupboards☺︎

Thanks for popping by and I hope that the festive season is bringing much joy and not to much stress.

Home away from Home

Hello all,

We are in the last month of the year and busy finishing up work and school here. It's a busy time of the year, but a special time at the same time. And at ARTastic we are remembering the Christmas season is often about home and what it means to us.
This is the inspiration painting we are using this month;

For us in Western Australia, it is the summer and 6 weeks of school holidays which means camping time for our family and so I have done my page on our Home away from Home.
I love the earthy colours of the painting and went with them for my page. I used brown mist for my background and then using the way the painting place the houses across the page, I placed my background paper across my page and added a few embellishments. My photo, I first edited on my, Becky Higgins project life, phone app.

Thank you for popping by and and I wish you a beautiful holiday season.

sisters

Hello, and welcome November.
I'm starting off this month with my DT page for ARTastic which has a vintage theme this month with this painting as the inspiration.

I couldn't go past the aqua colour and used it as my base colour for my page;
I kept the background white and centred only on the photo and embellishments. I'm happy how the plain background gave it a vintage feel itself. Doilies remind me of vintage, although I often use them in my other pages, letting them me one of the main embellishments let them set the tone. Paper from a vintage range and some pretty flowers, finished off my page.

Close up of my doilies and other little embellies.

I was a bit away from the scrapbooking scene last month as my work has picked up and I am also busy completing baby quilts. Hopefully you'll see me a bit more this month before the crazy month starts ☺︎

Delight

Hello and thanks for popping by.
School holidays are finished here and the house is quiet during the day again. I'm not sure if I like it or not.
Today I have my DT page for ARTastic which is focusing on October being Breast Cancer month.
It was only last month that sadly we buried a dear lady of our church as the result of breast cancer :-( and I know there are many of you out there who have also been affected one way or another. It is good to be able to have a month to focus on these things.

The inspiration painting by Chris Noble, with the theme of pink,

The page I have created is around one of my favourite photos of my youngest,

I have done a small amount of water painting for the background and then inspired by the roses, I centred my page around some beautiful rose paper.  I added lots of pink elements, like tags and buttons and of course some pretty flowers.

This flower I crocheted using cotton. I love using my other crafts on my children's pages, so they have a little bit of me in their albums☺︎.

Hope you feel inspired and please feel welcome to head over to ARTastic and join in this beautiful challenge or simply enjoy what other talented people have created.

Dance with Your Heart

Hello,
I had a slow day scrapbooking today, while recovering from the flu☹. My two girls also have it and it's been couch days for the last week. But we are getting there and today I felt like achieving something, even if it was a scrapbook page and not the vacuuming☺︎.
I loved the sketch challenge at Show Us Your Stuff and have actually been wanting to make a page like this for a while so it was perfect.

My page;

I did a lot of stamping for my background and then concentrated on the 'strip' photo background. I had just bought a scrapbook kit so it all came together nicely. My handmade items are the crochet trim and handmade buttons. I love the height and texture they give to a page.

Thank for popping by.

Love for Fishing

Now that I have my computer back, I can post the page I made for the sketch challenge at Scrap The Girls this month.

My page;
I first splattered water colour paint on my background before using a flower stamp over top. Then to add a bit of texture I included texture paint chevrons.
I backed the photo with papers and homemade tags and embellished with a flower cluster☺︎.

Thanks for popping by.

Special Dad Moment

Hello. I am running late this month with my DT page for ARTastic as I lost my computer for a bit, but, today I'm here with our special challenge for ARTastic. A tribute to the Dads out there, with September holding Father's Day here in Australia, and using this painting as our inspiration;

For my page I chose the colours from the water and boat and couldn't resist using back and white spot paper from the dog.
My background was created my spraying my page with water and then spraying blue ink on top and letting it run dry. After it was dry, I smudged purple water colour paint before using background stamps to finish off my page. With a busy background, I kept my papers and embellishments to a minimum.

Wishing everyone another month of fun scrapbooking and please feel free to join in the ARTastic challenge this month.
