Family weekend

Hello,
I'm back as promised with my other 2 layouts I created, both using photos from our weekend away.

For Stuck Sketches, which had this fun sketch to use,

I made this layout:
I did a circle behind my photo and then spray misted a Heidi Swapp star for the foreground. The background was done using star punches, stencils and misting. I couldn't resist the little canvas cloud for my page, I stitched around it to give it a cute outline.

Then last but not least, here is my page I created for the 123 Challenge Blog which was to use, Lime, the word Today and Spots.

My Title is done using a Becky Higgins projects life card. Perfect☺︎. With a colourful and patterned background, I kept the papers and my embellishments around the photo low key to put focus on the photo. I crocheted the 2 circle embellishments for on the flower and with the wood veneer elements.

Thank you for popping by and for the beautiful comments you leave. I read each comment with a feeling of gratefulness for the love shown☺︎.

I can't wait to join in and share with you more challenges again next month.

Girls

Hello,

There is nothing like a scrapbook day with a friend to fix the lack of pages completed. We often get together and it always special, fun and of course productive☺︎.
Today I have 2 of the pages I created, both with gorgeous mood boards;  the first one is for the challenge at Off the Rails Scrapbooking.

I have created my page using a photo I took while we had a weekend away in the cute little town of Bridgetown which is on the banks of the river.
I love these photos, showing the simple love of sisters and I wanted to keep that emotion in my page, so I chose to keep my papers low pattern and just went with the colours.

A little love heart I crocheted. I enjoy putting my other crafts in my pages and hopefully it will show the kids a bit of me☺︎.

I also created a page for the challenge at Scrap Africa.

For this page I still had a photo I've been meaning to scrap for a while and this was the perfect mood board to use,
I am also using the last bits I have of the paper range Simple Stories-Vintage Bliss. I'm trying to get as many layouts as I can out of it since it's been my favourite range. For this page I did my background stamping in a soft pink, normally I stick to black or strong colours. I love the subtlety of the pink. The love hearts are from Heidi Swapp and a girl page is always pretty with a doily, this time I used a paper doily.

A close up of the papers I used, creating layers. I have been using journalling cards a lot lately to add behind photos and papers. They are quick and easy and add a nice touch.

Tomorrow, I will be back with 2 more layouts, yes, I have enjoyed putting together some pages this month ☺︎

Today

Hello,
I have sort of been missing this month because we took some time off as a family and enjoyed a weeks holiday plus some time over different weekends.
This week I joined the challenge at Scrap The Girls because I fell in love with their mood board,
Such pretty colours which inspired this page,
We found a pretty little garden on one of our weekends away, it was fun place to take photos of the kids; this one of the girls. I have used papers from My Minds Eye-Find Your Wings and Fly. The main background paper I spread out behind the photo.

This cute little bunting was made by fussy cutting a paper that was made up of patterned triangles. I actually bought it for this exact purpose. I love to add buttons to my buntings and in this case I think it adds a nice pretty girly touch.

Thank you for popping past and seeing what I have been creating.

Caring

Hello,
I love October, it's my favourite month. The weather is warming up but still some beautiful rain showers to enjoy, school holidays and it always seem to be a month of relaxing.
I begin my scrapbooking for the month with my page for ARTastic Challenge Blog,
It was centred around this gorgeous vintage painting with the criteria for the challenge also being vintage,

I scrapbooked a black and white photo of my daughter with her doll. She is such a doll girl and a cute little mother to them.

I first stuck lace and doily to my background paper then painted my page with gesso so that the lace and doily would become a subtle part of my background. Using mist I finished the background with splatters and a doily stencil. For my papers I chose a vintage line from Kaiser craft and backed my photo with them. And some flowers to finish the page off.

We would love you to pop in at ARTastic and have join in with our challenge.
I will be having a break for a week or two from scrapbooking while my kids are on school holidays. I'm looking forward to spending some time with them.
Till then wishing you all the best.

Cutie Pie

Hi there,

I'm having a fun month of scrapbooking, including a scrapbooking day yesterday with a friend. I created this page for the challenge at Sketchabilities.

I first stencilled some dots around my page with modelling paste and splattered some mist to create my background.  I loved putting all the elements together.

A close up of my little cluster. I stamped some butterflies to use instead of flowers. I love how it turned out.

I also created a page for the challenge at Lessology using a book to feature in the Layout,

I have used book pages to back my photo, and to compliment the reading theme, I created a background using a script stencil and stamp. For the stencilling I coloured the modelling paint with a bit of misting ink.
I received the concertina flower on a gift I received so up cycled it on my page and of course I up cycled my girl's reading book, I hope they won't mind.

Thank you for popping by, I hope you are finding time for some scrapbooking as well.

Just Having Fun

Hello,

We have had real spring weather here in Western Australia, rain and sunshine. Perfect for being out and also scrapbooking.
I have had fun scrapping a page for the Scrap the Girls challenge. This was the sketch to use

and my page,

This was another photo taken by my niece, this time of my eldest. Love the serenity of it. For the floral cluster around the journal card I have used muslin, doilies, handmade buttons, shells and of course flowers. The paper range I used is Amy Tangerine-Rise and Shine. Beautiful mix of papers with great co-ordinating embellishments including the journal cards.

A close up of all my elements

And my other cluster to finish off the page.

My 2 girls have dress up day this week at school so I will be busy sewing but hopefully I'll be fitting in some scrapbooking too.

Take care.

Best Buds

Hello there,

Today I have a page to share with you using the challenge at Scrap Africa which was to use this sketch,

My page using a photo of my youngest and her friend. Our 2 families spend a lot of time together  and these two have grown up best friends,

I have kept this page clean and simple using simple background stamping and clean lines. The journal cards are part of a Becky Higgins project life kit. I don't actually do project life but the kits are suitable for scrapbooking too. The cute circles are from Heidi Swapp.

I hope all is going well with you all and thank you for popping around.
