Winter puddles

I'm squeezing in a last LO for the month; this one for the challenge over at June 123.

WORD: CHANGE
COLOUR: BLUE
TECHNIQUE: Using WASHI TAPE

There is a big puddle on one of the vineyard tracks that attracts my kids every winter. These are my 2 youngest while out for a walk last winter. I have misted the background for this LO and then used flower rubons along with some stamping. I have also used washi tape at the top of my photo and some more at the top corner of my LO.

A bunting I made using a Kaiser craft stamp set including the clouds.

I made a flower using washi tape, it was very fiddly but worth it in the end. I distressed and inked the edges of my background papers to make them stand out.

The title using the word change. Using different alpha stickers added fun to the page which is definitely what the girls were having.

See you in July, hopefully with lots more to share.

Sweet

Cupcakes is the inspiration for the challenge over at The Lollipop Ladies with a 'recipe' of 3, 2, 1 of something.
I haven't used an actual cupcake in my page but cute and sweet come to mind when I think of cupcakes so I went with that for my LO,
my sweet and cute youngest;
I love this photo of her. I have used a range of papers, the main ones I used for backing paper and embellishments are from Simple Stories- Summer Fresh. A range I love! My recipe is 3 tags; one from the summer range, a flower one and a little green one tucked away, made from a cuttlebug diecut.

2 clouds, a new cuttlebug diecut and 1 button, a cute chipboard floral button. This girl I cut out from an October afternoons paper.

The tag I made from the paper of the summer fresh range and some love heart stitching.

It's a fun challenge and I hope you find time to join in ☺.

Happy Day

There are some photos that bring so much joy just looking at them and this is one of them for me. I remember this day, simply leaving everything and going for a slow walk with the girls out in the vineyard letting them explore as much as they liked. Here, Dandelions were picked for Mum; simple things mean so much. I scrapped this photo for the challenge over at Scrap the Girls, the theme being photos taken outside.
I have had this background paper for ages; I'm one of those that doesn't want to use it just in case, but I'm determined to go through my stash and use them. I have added a few journalling sentences around the page, blending them in with the paper for a change.

I'm in love with the range of papers from Simple Stories- Summer Fresh. I bought the paper pad and it has so many beautiful papers and sayings. This title is from this pack as well as the floral paper.

One of the sayings from the paper pad, also the check background paper. I have also done rolled flowers, an idea from a friend, along with rolled gardenias, a new die cut I bought for my cuttlebug.

Hope you are enjoying this last month before we are in the second part of the year. Yipes!

Real boy

It is hard for me to get posing photos of my son unless he is really happy. This particular day we went to his favourite park and I got some great photos of him, this one being my favourite.
I used this photo for a LO for the challenge over at Scrap for Help. The criteria was to use old metal. I have had the round metal tag from a pair of shoes for a while. I have also used metal tag holders(don't know the real name☺) that I have kept from some other clothing tags.

I had fun with this LO, lots of distressing and inking. I have only used a few embellishments because I was happy with the way the paper looked. I stamped a tag and my misted 'wall' with the Kaiser craft graffiti background stamp. Then I added a brad, some stitching and a stamped fabric button to my tags.

Our part of the world had some storms come through which were pretty rough and damaged the kid's school so I have had them home all week, and with wet weather outside! But it's back to school tomorrow, and I think I deserve some me time after this unexpected break. So more LOs to come, till then happy crafting.

Time 2 create

The Let's Get Shabby challenge this month straight away caught my eye because it was different. This month it was:
Something old
Something new
Something borrowed
and
Something blue.

After seeing the DTs amazing work I had to join in.

I did a LO on my eldest daughter sewing her first quilt with a friend who enjoys sewing as much as Justine, so they have lots of fun together.
I first misted my background paper and then started building up from there. I wanted to bring in different textures as that is what I think of when I sew. I have added felt flowers, fabric buttons, fabric and twine.

My something blue(well I've included quite a few blue things) my fabric button. And my something new, some muslin, which I received as a gift from a friend just last month.

I went to a scrapbook retreat last month and while I was there I was able to borrow a border punch. I fell in love with this button and needle punch straight away, so cute. So that is my something borrowed.I added the thread in the buttons which gave it a nice touch. Something old, the T and 2 which I have had in my stash for quite a while, it was nice to use them.

I managed to cover all the criteria and it wasn't as hard as I thought, there are a few days left for the challenge if you wish to join in.

Lollipop Ladies

I have been asked to join Lollipop Ladies DT again which is very exciting. This is a challenge blog centered around a photo of sweets with an additional criteria. This challenge was Jelly Babies,

with Ribbon.

I have done a LO of my two youngest girls taking their dolls for a walk, um maybe that's hill climb ☺.

It's not often I use a busy background page but this paper suited so well. I sponged white ink around the centre of the paper so it is lighter around my photo. I wanted a fun page so I have added lots of bright embellishments with tags, doileys and flowers. I have made ribbon flowers by rolling the ribbon.

And I have made a ribbon bunting. Lots of fun things to match my fun girls.

Head over to Lollipop Ladies, we would love you to join in.
